  5. Inaccuracies: 1. Within the UK Constitution the English Constitution is the one in which God delegates His power to the Monarch, which she shares with Parliament. In the Scottish Constitution which is included in the constitution of the UK, by the Treaty of Union of 1707, the Scottish Constitutional Law tradition is one in which God delegates His power directly to the people who, in theory, choose a Monarch, and a Parliament, in which sit not only the MPs chosen by their Sovereign, the People of Scotland, (under whose Sovereignty Scottish MPs serve) and Parliamentarians who sit by right or heredity or by right of being chosen by the Prime Minister and appointed by the Monarch.
    2. Scotland, Wales, are countries within the Supra country of the United Kingdom ,and Northern Ireland is a Provence within the UK. The National Government of Scotland, and the National Assemblies of Wales and N. Ireland are not Sovereign, but devolved and have only such limited powers as is devolved to them by the UK Government. Thus Westminster maintains control over about 3/4 of Scotland's finances, denying the National Government the authority to make financial decisions which, if it had, it would use to create jobs, improve social services, etc.. Even so the Scottish Parliament, which was created by the UK Government, governs under the Sovereignty of the People of Scotland and is accountable to them.
    2. The UK has only some features of Democracy. The undemocratic features being, A. an unelected Head of State, B. an unelected House of Lords, which has about 200 more members than elected MPs in the House of Commons.
    3. The Government of the UK does not govern in the interests of the People of the UK, but in the interested of the wealthy, and corporations. It is an oligarchy, perhaps a plutocracy.
    4. The Church of England is the state church of England, of which the Monarch is the Supreme Governor. The Church of Scotland is not a state Church, but the Church by Law Established, which jealously guards its internal affairs from interference from any government, except in criminal matters within its structure, and such civil laws as planning legislation regarding property. It claims that The Lord Jesus Christ is the Only King and Head of the Church. It is, however, in the incongruous position of having included in the Coronation Oath, the promise that the Monarch will maintain the Westminster Confession of Faith as the doctrinal standard of the the C of S, and that she will maintain the Presbyterian government of the Church. So the C of S is not, in reality, free to change its doctrinal standards, nor its form of government.change it's doctrinal standards, nor its Presbyterian form of Government.
