We went there to document the conflict, meet Romney's Mormon family, and find out more about how US policy is impacting the war on drugs. 8. Mormons can be incredible but this story is inaccurate. mormons ALWAYS obey the law, not run from it to Mexico. When polygamy became illegal, they stopped it for that reason. anyone trying it is excommunicated and has been for a hundred years. Joseph further NEVER taught that polygamy was essential for increases in salvation. he DID teach that being married enabled you to enjoy the highest degree of glory in heaven---the ability to have spirit children...posterity. but it wasnt essential to go to heaven. ask a Mormon. its awsome doctrine and i could find no fault in it. on the contrary, i have felt a tremendous feeling of peace about it. but some groups will hype against it.
