The Power of Compound Interest - The Wealth Academy presented by Valentine Ventures, LLC

Learn the power of compound interest here at The Wealth Academy (http://www.wealthacademy.org), an ever-growing library of brief, educational videos about investing, personal finance, and the pinnacle of wealth attainment: living a life rich in the things money can't buy. The Wealth Academy traces its roots to a syndicated radio show I produced for many years that ended in 2010 ("The Rich Life with Bill Valentine"). The show was based on the idea that rather than "stock tips", investors needed to better understand the fundamentals of investing, what types of information they could trust and not trust, and just how much outdated information there is out there. The Wealth Academy picks up where the radio show left off. The videos are produced at my investment firm, Valentine Ventures, by me and my team. We do not ask anything from you in order to watch these videos, except perhaps your feedback—if we can do new video for you, or do the ones we do better. If you want to be kept apprised of the videos being added to the Academy (along with our other informative content), be sure and sign up for our "Weekly Update" via the above link. Thank you and we hope you like what we've done.

  1. The problem with this video from a wealth building perspective, is that it assumes the economy is so stable, that the regular Joe are able to get a steady 8% every year for 40 years without any lose, that's simply not gonna happen.

Here's a overview of lose in %, and gain needed to restore original portfolio value.

(% lost = % gain needed to restore original portfolio value)
    -10% = 11%
    -20% = 25%
    -30% = 43%
    -40% = 66%
    -50% = 100%
    -60% = 150%
    -70% = 233%
    -80% = 400%
    -90% = 900%

to put this in perspective, the regular american family's net worth fell by 28,4% from 2007 to 2009.(1)

  2. I was absent when this was taught to me in school and I have a test of this tomorrow.
Now this subject is clear to me because of you. Thanks again.
  3. Thank you very much for this video
  4. So where can you invest where you get a compound interest rate as such as this?
  5. This is such BS. Here's a good question, what if I want to own $1,000,000 by the time I'm 25? You're teaching people how to tip-toe through life hoping they make it safely to death! Let me tell you something...Wheel Chairs don't fit in the trucks of Lamborghinis. Change your believes and DONT take this advice unless you're starting a compound interest fund with AT LEAST $1,000,000...
