This book gives and excellent explanation of what trading systems are and how they work. It goes on to explain the trading system development process and how to correctly optimize a trading system. Pardo explains how to build a trading system which is 'robust' and which will continue to work into the future using an optimization process called Walk forward analysis. This is one of the best trading books I have read and it is by far the best book on the trading system development process that I have yet come across. The evaluation and optimization of trading strategies is a must read for all system traders. If you are developing a trading system and you have not read this book then you will be making trading mistakes that can be avoided with the proper process that Pardo describes. Overall I give 'The Evaluation and Optimization of Trading Strategies' 5 out of 5 and I think that every serious system trader should have this book on their bookshelf.
