I buy oversold RSI14<30 with bullish momentum divergence and make $ consistently. You are giving incorrect information about the inefficacy of buying oversold. Buying oversold works provided you have a high beta stock that has a history of bouncing. Some stocks are "bouncers" others are"trenders". Trenders destroy mean reversion traders, bouncers kill trend followers. Need to mix in momentum too, we don't buy oversold when there is still a strong momentum down. Going with sma 50 adds positive odds though.
Fantastic Steven..really the key is the 50sma or i find the 50ema as good..its something so basic but your the first i have heard share this. Recently i realised the 8ema cross over with 21ema is the same. Sell if it crosses below..at least dont buy anyway and vice versa...i discovered it by accident. It works in the 60 min chart.
