1. Vxx is etn,not etf.Short térm volatility from s&p500.Vxz is médium térm between vix,vxx.
   
   
2. VXX is not "the ETF for the VIX S&P 500 Index".  You can't trade the VIX directly so you can't "buy Puts on the VIX" as you say.  VXX is an ETF for short term volatility FUTURES.  You should probably know what you're trading before you start advising others to trade it too.
3. I wounder if i buy vxx now wait for it to get back to 300 would be a good idea.
4. I brought vxx at 13 and sold it in 3 years for 300 and got around 3hundred dollars.
