Understanding Australian Shares vs. Investment Properties

Hi Everyone, This video is focused on continue on building your knowledge around investing in shares. I explain what shares are, dividends, reinvesting dividends and why I LOVE Australian shares so much, particularly industrial shares. I also explain the high level of short to medium term volatility and the risks that come with that characteristic. I also share my goals, why I am happy with short to medium term volatility as it sometimes gives me great buying opportunities (kind of like Boxing Day sales) where I can sometimes find great value for money. And finally I compare why I love shares over owning investment properties....please feel free to share this video with any of your friends and don't forget that you can follow me on Instagram @sugarmamma.tv xCC

  2. i enjoy your videos, i was self employed41 years and have my retirement account in a self-directed company Scottrade and TD Ameritrade, in the USA, i have 23 dividend paying stocks, 6 of them pay monthly. it was all going well until 3 months ago, i came home from work, took a nap and had a stroke. this ended me working. the reason i have been able to remain calm is i have a monthly income coming in and its is growing each month. i hope people will listen to you and start investing now, because we dont know what is around the corner, i never thought this would happen to me. im living what your talking about with the investments, and you are 100 percent correct. keep up the good work . i believe the key is to start , the earlier the better i get 6-10 dividends payments per month.
    thank you.
  3. what do you recommend are the best stocks to invest in here in United States as you know what is like a Recession Proof type stock to invest and let me know

  7. I agree with your points on property investing vs shares. I kick myself for not having the knowledge, foresight and motivation 30 years ago when I started work. Great video.
  8. Hey Sugar Mamma Thanks for the information this is a hole big scary world, how do you think we can help the ordinary person understand how powerful this can be. Even though you were making this so easy to understand the Ordinary person still finds extremely hard to make any sense of this, any tips on how to get this out to the majority of the people. Thanks again Brett Debt Mastery
  9. Investment property doesn't have tax credit but negative gearing is huge saving on other income
  10. I love your theme of minimalism / simplicity throughout the videos. It makes investing seem practical and not scary!
  11. Would you recommend buying the ASX index (+1 for diversification) or pick-and-choose certain aussie shares with strong dividend history? Congrats on the channel!

  14. Does your information of tax benefit, etc. apply to USA share investing?
  15. Love watching your videos, just subscribed. I just got into the stockmarket at age 30 and putting a lot of my money into medicinal cannabis shares such as mxc, mmj & twh. What's your impression on those companies? They are only penny stocks, but i see potential.
  16. Hi
I have been watching your videos on shares this weekend, cause it's something I would love to get started in. I've never bought a share in my life but I've built quite a decent investment property portfolio. Your points on costs associated with property are spot on! My question is I have absolutely no idea how to start, could you do a video on baby steps for someone who has no idea on even how to open a stock account? I've heard of CommSec but again no idea about anything relating to shares. .....thank you so much in advance.
  17. Good videos, after investing in properties in US, the holding costs, tenant, evictions and repairs is really a pain. At end you barely make any money! :) I been investing mainly in my work's 401k plan because they match it, can you make video on mutual funds?
  18. I asked my Barclays bank in the UK to start investing but they said we do not provide that service and I have to go to a personal financial advisor or share broker. I live in Manchester and I would like to know if anyone knows a good professional to start investing ?
  19. Wow, these are really good points! Everything you said is dead on.
Plus, I should add, property taxes can be a bummer too, depending on where you live.
  20. Is it the same for someone who doesn't live in Australia?  That is probably a dumb question.
