Understanding Buy and Hold as an Investment Strategy

Sometimes the game of stocks is a quick fix, buying and selling as soon as a bit of money is made. Another strategy is the buy and hold, which is to hold onto a stock for many years. Even multi-billionaire Warren Buffet uses this strategy to optimize his long-term investments. http://www.mybanktracker.com/investing/basics/Understanding-Buy-and-Hold-as-an-Investment-Strategy/102389 Click the link above to learn more about investing.

  1. buy and hold is the worst strategy that you can  imagine. warren buffet himself flip stocks. some of his holdings lost money but because he owns too much shares he cant sell them all. what you buy stocks at 100 and after a decade they are at 10 would you hold them for more.  stocks are volatile so what is the solution?  i know for sure that you have never traded in your life? so most managers they buy a lot of stocks form different industries and sectors. so they can have an average of 10% profit each year  then each year they sell the losers and replace them. that is why people buy mutual funds and etfs because they are diversified alot. thanks
  2. What I'm wondering about is how to calcuate when the stock price will be on it's top, it would be cool to make a model for that.
  3. great...manythanks!
