  8. You know, I hear this all the time from sucessful people. "Love the business", "love what you do", "don't do it for the money."

And I'm starting to think there is some truth to that. Most of us, ever since we were kids, have been indoctrinated to work for money. A good paying job leads to a good life, they say. But I look at most people who believe this and realize just how miserable and unhappy they really are.

I'm a junior in college, and my parents keep asking me where are you going to get a good paying job? Whenever I say I really want to work in a startup or build my own, because that is where the exciting adventure is, they go out of their way to try and scare me out of it. "It's too risky", "they don't pay much".

News flash: I don't care! I learned to code when I was a teen, for fun. I didn't even know how much programmers made when I started.

So, here is a message to all the parents out there: Shut the fuck up and stop telling your kids what to do in their lives.
