  1. The chain of destruction: Drug manufacturer to drug distributor, drug distributor to drug user. The drug user becomes a drug abuser and subsequently has no self-control to stop the personal abuse caused by their respective bad habit. The bad habit causes the drug abuser to channel all means to acquire more drugs to maintain the habit
  2. The habit lowers the ethical base of the drug user to the point that responsible priorities surrender to irresponsible behavior. This extreme behavior dramatically causes the downfall of the drug user, the family and friends of the drug user, the household, the neighborhood, the city, the state, the nation and the world! Is there a way to significantly stop drug abuse? Yes! One method is "Pro-activism edu-tainment". Which aptly describes this Channel "Stand Together Anti-Drugs"
  3. The War on Drugs: Undermining Human Rights The global “war on drugs” has been fought for 50 years, without preventing the long-term trend of increasing drug supply and use. Beyond this failure, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has identified many serious “ unintended negative consequences ” of the drug war – including widespread human rights abuses.
  4. (1) These human rights costs result not from drug use itself, but from choosing a punitive enforcement-led approach that, by its nature, criminalizes many users, often the most vulnerable in society, and places organized criminals in control of the trade. This briefing summarizes these human rights costs.
  5. There is naturally overlap with other areas of the Count the Costs project, including: security and development, discrimination and stigma, public health, crime, the environment, and economics. For briefings and a more extensive collection of resources on these costs see count the costs org.
