What Should You Start Trading First? Stocks, Options, Commodities, Forex? ★ SUMMARY ★ Stocks, Options, Commodities or Forex? It really comes down to personal preference. Personally, I started with the stock market and prefer it as a starting place for beginners. Why? Stocks have a lot more liquidity, they are easier to understand and it’s easier to get in/out of them. Options are my second choice because you can leverage and make more from your money or trade larger stocks for fewer yields. Basically, it allows you to control more of the expensive stocks. 13. I would say forex is more liquid then stocks it has a much larger daily average volume
